This book is wonderful.Bought it for my Mother (ok for myself as well :) )and she just loves it as well. I had thought the book was only about listing various types of fairy's but it is so much more.It has chapters on how to summon them,what they like to eat,how they like to dress and how they build their houses and where,Etc. just so much information. The drawings are fantastic and I wish I had larger versions of the pictures.The book is quite thick and hand sized (well for my large man hands :) ). So much in this world that we cannot see that is beautiful and wonderful.

I normally don't review books because it's so subjective, but I just wanted to clarify a few things for people wanting to buy this.This is filled with beautiful, full color, illustrations. There is one on nearly every page and they are very well done.The book is smaller than I pictured it. It was EXACTLY as described, the confusion was ENTIRELY down to me, but I have a few similarly themed books and they seem to be a pretty consistent size. This book is about (entirely eyeballing it here) six and a half by five and a half inches. Good little reference bookThis also isn't a "dictionary" like a lot of other books that categorize mythical beings. The book is entertaining enough to just sit and read. Of course, this is not a storybook, and is well categorized and easy to leaf back through to find a specific fairy.Good purchase overall, glad I picked it up.

I love this book!!!! There is gorgeous pictures throughout as well as casual information. Some of the "research" is based off of myths or lore and hard to verify the authenticity of it but as a casual read and for someone who loves the Fairies, I recommend this book for your collection. There is some information about how to invite them into your home, how to honor them, how to live with them, etc. I enjoy just flipping through and looking at the pictures and even reading the lore of the different fay folks.

This book-I can't say enough good things about it.When I picked it up and started flipping through the pages: it was truly magical. I couldn't put it down.There is such a diverse collection of things you may never have heard and some you may have.So many beautiful stories and pictures.This will make you extremely happy you decided to purchase.Who knows it may get so much use, you will have to get another copy for your collection.I highly recommend this to anyone considering and just know this small book packs a punch!!!Enjoy.

Very interesting little book. The art work contained in it makes the book worth the price all by itself. Well written account of the origin and history of "the little people" , also called "the fair people" that has crossed paths with me through the books I have been reading, even though these books were not about these folk. I got tired of going to Wikipedia to look up who these characters were, and went looking for a book describing these people. This is that book. Very pleased, learned a great deal. Many suggestions in this book are thought provoking. Several experiences I have had wherein I thought it was my subconscious speaking may have been something else entirely. If you live in a forest or on a farm, I think you need to read this book

Learning the way of the Fae has a charming, delightful presentation is this little bible-like book. I pick it up here and there to enjoy the pictures and the material that makes much more sense of the Wee Folk's relationship with humanity.

I love how there's so much fairy lore and legend that I haven't read about or known that is included in this book :)I had thought of myself as being fairly well versed in fairy tales and legends, but I had no idea that the tunes of The Londonderry Air (the tune of Oh Danny Boy) and of The Fairy Dance of Scotland were from the Good Neighbors. And there are so very many pieces of lore that I hadn't known which are woven throughout the familiar details written into these pages. Details I recall reading about from books when I was a teenager (I'm in my 30's now).The pictures are whimsical and cute :)For any person who still makes wishes and leaves little gifts for the Good Folk, or for anyone who wants to learn a little more about the legends that inspire so many writers and creators these days, I would recommend this book. :)

What we like best about Teresa Moorey's The Fairy Bible is the illustrations by Nick Harris, Jon Goode, James Holderness, and Dean Spencer, which are delightful. For us the book is another tome added to our library of reference books on myth, faerie lore and magic. This is not a book we've read cover to cover and we unlikely to ever do so, but instead will dip into here in there as intuition and inspiration moves us. But there is plenty here for those wishing suggestions about connecting to Faerie and Faerie kind, and if that is what you are looking for you will not be disappointed.
